The chrome moldings are chrome Mylar extruded with flexible plastic and a clear UV resistant coating. There is also a semi-clear temporary plastic layer intended to protect the finish until it is installed. All the moldings are flexible without distortion to a point, the smaller the part profile the more flexible it is. Do not confuse these moldings with cheap products available at your local auto parts store. While they may look similar their quality, durability, and selection are defiantly inferior, and probably not what you want for your project. In addition to the chrome moldings you will find that we also offer some moldings in black, white, and wood-grain on some sizes only. These moldings are intended for special applications for a custom accent (or problem solver) where chrome wouldn’t make the same statement. They are also easily painted (unlike the chrome) to any color using the same methods and materials used to paint urethane bumpers.
